As a writer and business person I have a passion for Office Suites, as I spend the majority of my day using them. I currently have WordPerfect, Microsoft Office, and OpenOffice installed, so let's dive in and see which one emerges the winner.Amazon's own review of WordPerfect provides a good overview of all the features, so there's no point in repeating it. What does need to be pointed out, however, is that it only scratches the surface. To make a long story short, WordPerfect offers more features than all the other suites combined.
So, in terms of features, WordPerfect takes the lead.
Next most important is ease of use. Long story short, as frustrating as Microsoft Word can be when it seems to be following its own head, WordPerfect is a joy to use.
The main criticism against WordPerfect is in this regard, because of the multitude of options one has in creating and editing documents. But you don't have to make it complicated for yourself, it simply includes the options to enable the user to do things his way, and I love my freedom of choice. If you don't use it, so what? It's there for that one project where you might need it. Plus, one can now use the "Word" interface, so there's no need to get worried about having to learn WordPerfect's intricacies if you don't want to.
BUT: once you have used the WordPerfect interface, YOU WILL NEVER WANT TO RETURN TO ANYTHING ELSE. It is THAT good, that simple, that logical.
In terms of freedom of choice and user friendliness, WordPerfect takes the cake. Nothing else comes close, but OpenOffice still does better than Microsoft in this respect.
Long time users of WordPerfect will know what I'm going on about. But they will also know that there have been integration issues with Microsoft, especially in the days of Versions 8 to 10. But this is getting better all the time, and is currently probably about as seamless as one can reasonably expect it to be.
WordPerfect is without a doubt my favourite Suite by far, and with every new edition, the gap between WordPerfect and the rest of them grows.
OpenOffice is also good, especially since it is open source. But it is still not good enough in my eyes, and I will happily continue paying for such fantastic software as WordPerfect has proved to be. With products like WordPerfect and OpenOffice, it is very hard, if not impossible, to justify the existence of products such as Microsoft Office, which if you know WordPerfect, is nothing but a pain to use.
Get WordPerfect now, and rediscover the joys of user friendliness and freedom of choice. Stop torturing yourself with bad products which have effective marketing campaigns but are bad value.
WordPerfect: the best office suite, and the best word processor in the world, by far!
I recommend this product highly because I LOVE using it.
